All the above were selected to be invited to join the Basketball Victoria Academy Program after participating in the skills day held last weekend in Ballarat.

A group of 556 Under-14 Country Skills Day participants have been invited to undertake further training at the elite level within the academy. The Under-14 Country Skills Days proved popular in 2022 with 892 players attending the 10 regional centres last weekend.

The Under-14 Regional Academy Program is a training and development program for country athletes that concentrates on advanced individual and team skills.

Regional Academy players attend regular small group skills sessions at or near their home association, under the direction of a Regional Academy Network Head Coach. Players also attend two compulsory weekend camps within their region.

The 2022 Regional Academy Program will be a 20-week program that includes two camps and develops individual’s skills and team concepts.

The Regional Basketball Academy will also form the basis for Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup (ACJBC) and Southern Cross Challenge selection in the relevant age groups for 2023.
